Game Tweaking

im trying to play some pretty graphic intensive games (GTA 3, SOF2 etc) and find my graphics card to be a little glitchy sometimes. I was wondering what the best tweaker out there is and what i absolutely "need" to change in order to get my video card working as smooth and fast as possible. i have a geforce2 mx440 and am running xp pro. i have nvmax but was wondering if there was anything better out there. i dont know alot about vid cards so i need to know whether to turn off v-sync, use trilinear filtering etc, etc. Thanks in advance!

v-sync will go through the refresh rate limit put on but win xp. but for games like gta3, your graphics card is the limiting factor. you can try eliminating trails from the options menu, as it may help a little although not much.
