3DMark®2001 SE Pro (build 330) is the latest installment (hah! - punk) in the popular 3DMark series. By combining DirectX®8.1 support with completely new graphics, it continues to provide benchmark results that empower you to make informed hardware assessments. The game tests, texturing tests, filtering tests, image quality tests, and others give you an overview of your system’s current performance and show you what kind of performance you could expect if you were to upgrade your PC.

You can download 3DMark 2001 SE from this page

Please use my next thread as a template for your benchmarks.
Thanks.

Very impressed with it.
Not only is it faster than my AthlonXP 3000+, its cooler (in both senses), was alot easier to install (can't really go wrong) but I also believe the power consumption is lower.

To say its cooler, if the temp goes above 40c I start to wonder whats wrong. Usually dances between 25 and 35. It would be lower, but my graphics card is doing a grand job of warming things up at 64c (case is therefore about 35-40c)

he just doesn't use Cool 'n' Quiet much :)

seriously though its a very nice cpu and does run cooler than my old AXP processor...

toss-up in temps between my p4 C and this but with cnq running, its much cooler... and it doesn't heat up to as high a temp...

I do use cool and quiet, the problem is that I don't have the stock fan anymore.
So at the expense of buying a watercooling system, its fast, cool and quiet :)

have you looked into the new 7700CU fan from zalman?

its pretty nice and uses a 120mm fan instead of the 92 with the older one :)

Quite rare to find a motherboard to fit it.. or at least my small knowledge of motherboards. Doesn't fit the Neo2 platinum :( Got my 7000b-CU sitting here waiting for a motherboard. I'm not sure how much more weight/size a motherboard could take :D

It was interesting running 2001 again. The benchmark didn't go up much over this system using a 9500 Pro but graphics detail seems much more vivid, especially in the nature tests.

do ya'll realize how bogus 3dmark is? i mean if u do extensive research on it, you will see how bogus it is. examples are higher end spec'd pc's are being beat by older lower end pc's. i mean c'mon, how can lower end machines beat higher end machines? biggest example is the game benchs. you see 9800pros beating 6800's in the game benches, but the 6800 beats the 9800pro in the other test, bump map, single/multi fill rates and so on. here is one comparison, http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5830983. how can a 9700 with only an AXP1800 beat my Barton core AXP3000 w/6800, keep in mind also my 6800 is unlocked 16/6. not the standard 12/5. my conclusion, 3dmrk is not reliable at any form. these test comparisons clearly show this. this link is not the only one either. there are many showing results like this.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
