funny sound in Quicktime

for some reason, all of my Quicktime videos now play with horrible sound. The sound is very tinny and echo-y. Any reason why this has happened? And any leads on how to fix it? I did a re-install and nothing changed. Thanks!

Have you looked through the configuration for Quicktime? The settings for QT are in the Control Panel.

Possibly it could be your sound card eax setting. Do you have a Soundblaster Live card?

Unless you're really into Quicktime as an application, you might want to consider using Media Player Classic instead. MPC plays Quicktime and RealMedia files, along with the others (mpg, avi...). Here is a thread with more info:
