Hi all
A friend of mine did a backup of ms flight simulator 2002 folder. and did a reinstall of win xp, then he copied the fs 2002 folder back to his main drive, all was well until he tried to install his addons and they said it could not find the ms flight simulator 2002 folder, so none of his addons will install.
I think it is a registry thing because he did not install the flight sim from the disc's.
any of you bright sparks know of a way round this.

thanks in advance

He will have to install it from the disks. You could then probably copy the directory back over top of the new directory, but the registry keys will be missing unless you install it properly. You will also have to reinstall any patches and addons manually. My recommendation is that you figure out what DATA files store your saved files and copy ONLY those to the new location.

I really hate reinstalling games that have 3 cds like fs2002, so i do this. I zip their directories, and then run regedit, find their registry folder, right click it, and select export. this is save a *.reg file to your computer, so next time you unzip the game, run the reg file aswell and all should work.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
