this is not a really hardcore program, and i am new to it. what is the best way to make is so that when a person clicks on a file it downloads insead of opening in the browser?

i usually just put like the pic or text of the file on my site and right click hyperlink it to the zipfile(i usually have mine in the dir of where im working) and it should work fine

That's up to the server and not to the page. HTML pages, images and so on will be opened in the browser. Zip files, exe files and many more will be downloaded.

Most of the time.

see i have a *.mp4 on the webpage (quicktime), and i just put the file up, no compression. i am going to use the stand alone zip extractor or create a sfx archive.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
