Freezing in Texas

Whats crazy is how much the weather can change even within the same state. I just spent a week in Long Island and the temp was a bit warmer (thanks ocean), usally ~35F+. The day I left (last night - friday) it was 54F and was raining in the morning @ 7:30AM. By the time we left the rain had gone and it was bright and sunny out. It was all nice till we got back "upstate" where it begain snowing again. Well we made it threw a white out and finally got back to where I had parked my car in the company lot for the week. I was pleased to find it encased in 2 inches of ice and covered in more then 6" of snow. That is after a nice day of sunshine here that I guess melted some of it. :dead:

Back in Calgary it wasn't uncommon for the day to start off at 15C and nice and sunny, go down to 10C and start raining, then go down to -5C with a blizzard. Only for the sun to come back out again

Yeah I was checking the weather back here now and then while down there. I saw one day that it was like a low of 32F there while back home it was -6F with windchill.

It's not just Texas, but the South West reagion, including it's neighboring state of New Mexico. Sure enough, after having been downright freezing last night, the temps warmed up today, and it's now 41 degrees here (was warmer earlier). It'll probably be back down to the teens or so, before too many days have gone bye...

Oh, and with it having warmed up to the upper 40s or lower 50s today, there was a little snow on the ground when I went outside only a few days ago.
