I didn't turn the services down, and I imagine this will release some memory as well.

as far as avast finding viri others missed...this has happened time and again with avg.

if it goes strictly pro, I will gladly give this company my support.

the only reason I ahven't gone pro is the extra resource footprint.

I was using nod32 lately and decided to try avast. I have used symantec 8.1, norton corp 7.6 and avg on the regular and avast to my surprise picked up a trojan that all the others missed. So I guess I'll try it for a while.....;)
