I have a Freecom Portable CDRW 4420 which uses a PCMCIA cable. It used to work correctly with my Laptop running XP Pro but it crashed. Now I can get the cable drive working correctly but "Syste" shows that the drive is not recognized.

Hoe can i get the necessary drivers (no help from freecom download) and how do i load the drivers?

What do you mean by 'not recognised'? If it does not show up in windows explorer try going to computer management & if it is there reassign it a drive letter.

I get to from the start menu.
Computer management/Storage/disk management.

Hi I have a set of drivers I think I loaded from Freecom about 4 months ago which seems to work fine. The folder is called 218Wnew_21_05_02 which I presume you can search for within the Freecom website. Otherwise I could email it to you. All my outgoing mail is scanned by Norton Antivirus.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
