Where the heck is the default installation path for Samba3 in FreeBSD 5.2? I want to work with MySQL as a user's database, but the manual point to a mysql dump in an example dir of Samba3, but where the heck is it? I have searched all dirs, and I have yet to master the 1337 skillz of locate (I only knew whereis, up until 15 mins ago), I have searched in the portsdir , looking through all files in there, trying to make sense out of them, but still nothing. Help!

Mods please close/delete this thread. I have decided to abandon the whole idea of using the MySQL password backend and go with the default tdbsam backend instead. Read my next thread for more information as I am having problems with tdbsam as well.

Thank you :)

find / -name "*samba*"

Will search all files on your HD, locate is a database that only gets updated every so often, so it can't be relied on for new installs.

Most often it will install config files in /usr/local/etc/

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
