I am planing to format my main hd, what is the best way to do this?

When performing a clean install what do i actually need and how do i do it ??

this quite simple to do,just boot from the cd rom and follow the instructions you can format the disk from this and partition as much as you like.as there is no dos in xp its all done from the disk

Good answer sparky. Just one additional thing banter. Although you can change your mind later and use something like Partition Magic - it's easiest if you plan ahead and decide about whether or not you want multiple partitions and if so what size, and what file system(s) you'll be using. Setting up your hd properly prior to installation is just better & easier than changing it later.
