Sorry, DAZZ but nobody can and should answer your question, I have no doubt your legit, however, getting past passwords is something that can't be discussed here.

Your only solution is to reinstall XP.

Sorry.

just reinstall dude, XP its easyer and less hassle trying to bypass it

ok, heres my question, my uncle just upgraded to windows xp pro on his laptop. it wont accept his old username/password combo. it wont let him click cancel or anything. is there anyway to get around this?

lol......well the only quick way to resovle this problem is to re-install... If u have stuff on your comp that u dont wanna loose just install over the top of your existing Xp/os. It might be an idea to remeber your password........also check if u have caps lock on mate, :) becasue the password is case sensitive

Take a look at THIS. I have used this utility on several occaisions without any problems. But I am going to warn you that you can make it impossoble to logon if there are failures during the process. Only use this as a last resort. Do not and i stress do not use this to hack into anyones computer. Only use this to reset lost passwords from a machine that you own.

I would strongly suggest not using that. You could possibly do more harm than good to your machine.

Like I said in my post only use this as a last resort. If you do it properly then no harm will be done. But I will state again..Only use this as a last resort.

Looks like a useful tool if you have exhausted all other options, tho pretty complicated... everyone else seems to be doing it, so I will stress that this is a last resort and although it can be misused, I think open_source posted it with good intentions.

Damn forgot your password, thats bad. why lock your computer? unless you hiding porn haha

Another Dumbo

Hi,

I'm talking about my-self here

I also have forgotten my password for XP Pro and just wanted to get a bit of clarification that if I re-install XP on my machine after upgrading to SP1 will I lose any of the saved/stored docs, programs, etc on my HDD.

Thanks

As long as you do not format your documents will still be there. As far as programs they may need to be reinstalled.

Thanks for the reply.

but just so that I can get it right, I can re-install and save my docs & files but may lose some installed progs (no problem as I have them all on CD) and this will re set the password.

Will reset the password if you choose a new install and not a repair install.

I would recommend creating a second account with Admin priviledges with a second password that you might remember. Redundancy can help sometimes.

hey you pplz know if i reinstall my windows xp will it rewrite my registry?

im doing this because with i click start - search - for files and folders i get this message Error: A file that required to run search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup

If you reinstall it will create a whole new registry. If you mean do a repair then yes, it will rebuild the registry.

I think maybe Dazz and ClamKnucke are the same person, maybe not.
