Font Management :-S

Hi,

I have noticed a large increase in the time it takes to load windows. I have been trying things like uninstalling programs that I don't use very often but it hasn't really helped much. Then I thought about the fonts and I read an article on the net saying that over 200 fonts can cause a performance drop. I checked my font folder and I have 465 :(

The problem is, I don't know which ones to remove. I have a small list of all the fonts that Windows needs to work but I am also afraid that uninstalling some may make some of my programs stop working properly.

Has anybody got any tips on what fonts to remove etc?

I'm sure that reducing my 465 fonts to about 80-100 will increase the performace of my PC!

Thanks :)

Back up what you want to remove, if your programs don't work once you've removed them, reinstall one at a time to see which font you need *shrug*

With todays computers, fonts are not a problem at all. having a lot of fonts should be no problem at all, at a time when i had Windows XP i had well over 1000 fonts, and my PC was just as fast.
