Folder Settings

For some reason I set My Documents folder to be viewed as tiles but evertime I open My Documents it's different everytime. One time it's List and another it could be Icons, or Thumbnails. This happens on both my hard drive and all my folders on different partitions. Is there a way to make Windows remember what I set it for, it's becoming a real pain in the butt. I'm pretty sure it started happening after i ran some tweaks from the XP Tweaking Guide I got from this site. But I don't know what tweak may have done it. Thanks for any response in advance.

go to tools --> folder options

click on the "view" tab

scroll down and you'll see an option for "remember each folder's view settings"

or

set the folder to the way you want it, then go to tools --> folder options

click on view

then "apply to All folders"

then make sure the "remember each folder's view settings" is unchecked

By default XP remembers only 400 folder settings.
You can increase this number by adding a D-Word value named BagMRU Size to these registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam

Double click on BagMRU Size and assign a number to it. I've mine set to 4000.
