folder flashlight

I keep getting the dreaded flashlight every time I open a folder. How in the H@ll can I avoid it. I haven't changed any thing in weeks?

I get it also. I think that after you accumulate alot of files in, let's say the recycle bin, the flashlight appears until all items in the folder can be shown at once. When the folder has only a few item, the flashlight will not appear because there are only a few items that the OS has to show and can do so quickly.

Close, but no cigar. It does it on all folders, even the empty ones. And my puter is set to not have any files in the Bin.
