Flat Panel Resolution Problems

I've got a Dell 2001FP monitor. Every is great in analog mode, but as soon as I switch to the DVI input, I am limited to the resolutions that I can choose. When in digital mode I can only choose resolutions that have a refresh rate of 60 Hertz. So bascially I can only choose 1024x768 or 1600x1200. I want one that is in between. Is this normal for a digital display to be limited to only 60 Hertz, where in analog mode I can choose from many different refresh rates?

Thanks

I don't know the answer, but maybe you haven't installed the proper drivers for you monitor? Maybe it defaults to 60 Hz mode with those resolutions, because it's installed as a default Plug and Play monitor. I guess.

I've tried the correct Dell monitor drivers and the windows plug-and-play drivers as well to no avail.

LCD are meant to display only at their native resolution. Some can display other resolutions, but the signal is essentially upsampled or downsampled. You monitor may not do this in Digital mode.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
