Recently installed a Pyro 1394 Hard Drive Kit in a system running Win XP Pro. The HD is partitioned and formatted. It does not show up in "My Computer", althought everything apears fine under "Disk Mangement". I can even see the drive in a DOS window. ADSTECH support appears clueless. Thoughts?

Does the partition(s) on the drive have (a) drive letter(s) assigned?

Firewire HD

Yes, drive letter are assigned. Each is formatted and contain data. Can see drive letter and data in a DOS window - no drive letter in "My Computer"

um,

why not try the ADD/hardware wizard, maybe it will find it and install for you!!

just a thought, i have to do this myself in 2 days when i get my new HD!!

FireWire HD

Been out of town for a while, getting back to this problem. Using Add Hardware Wizard does not help, still no drives in My Computer. Norton System Works 2002 sees the drive(s) and can use Disk Doctor and Optimize. This is really frustrating.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
