Firewire drivers

I have a laptop with a P4 2.4Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 40GB hard drive, Firewire Port, USB1 port, PCMCIA port and an external 120GB Firewire hard drive.

Is there anyway I can load drivers at startup so that I can access the drive at startup?

The drive can also be used via USB2 but the only USB2 port is via a PCMCIA port and this is also inaccessible at startup.

The BIOS only allows floppy disk, Internal hard drive and internal CDROM to be used to boot the system

If the bios does not allow for any options to boot from other devices such as a zip drive or what not then I dont see how that is possible :)

Perhaps I could boot the laptop from a CDROM or floppy into DOS. Can I now access the Firewire drive after loading the relevant (if they exist) drivers?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
