Firewire Card

I'm running XP Pro with a VIA OHCI Firewire card installed on my machine.

Device manager picks this up no problem and according to the properties theres no conflicts or issues with it.

However whatever program I use to try and transfer DV film from my camcorder to the PC, I always get the message "no device found"

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please.

I only joined this group this morning and already I've solved with the forum's help a few of the probs I had on my system.

One to go, the above.

I've tried everything I can think of RE this but none of the software I'm using will pick up my digital camcorder but device manager picks up the firewire card.

I really would appreciate any help or suggestoins to try and solve this problem.
