Findin IP Address in WinXp

How can i find my IP address in WINXP? Win 98 run command was "winipcfg" now whats the deal with XP? can someone help me with this simple prob?

Depends on your configuration, what IP address are you trying to find LAN, or WAN. Try the command ipconfig

run ipconfig in a Dos window.

Had to change the name to screw us over didn't they...

If you have a router enter the setup program and look under Status, DHCP, Connection etc. Varies by router type.

Just for future reference, if you're used to winipcfg from 9x, there is a similar GUI tool for NT/2k/XP as well - Wntipcfg
Download it here:

You can rename the file winipcfg.exe and move it to your Windows folder. You can then access it just like you could in 9x using Start>Run>winipcfg

man, I'm having a hard time finding a great teeny weenyt program one of our members write and posted a short time ago
