I finally caved in and actually BOUGHT my first Intel in YEARS. I was able to find an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 for $65.

Along with it I bought:

Intel Bad Axe 2 ($89.99)
Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB DDR2 800mhz ($49.99)

I am finally removing my AMD Opteron 175 off of my signature. (It's not gone, it just became my media center rig)

Intel Core 2 Processors are the only sensible choice at the moment. Brute force, less heat, less power. Even Athlon 64's outperform AMD's new Barcelona and Phenom processors

I like it. It's very quick and I can tell the difference between the Opteron and the C2D.
I bought mine through the HardOCP FS/FT. forums. There's been more and more sales of the E6300 and lesser processors for under $75. Even at $75 it's a deal.
