Hey

Is there a file that holds all the info about my services.msc (which ones are auto, manual...)? Im too lazy to configure it on another computer. :p

Thanks

Go to http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/registry.htm

download either DefaultHomeAllstart.zip or DefaultProAllstart.zip.

These are registry files with the default services start values.
Open the reg file in Notepad (right click - edit) and adjust the values to your liking. You'll have to know what is what. Don't be too lazy when modifying services. Troubleshooting later usually takes more time.

00000002 ~ Automatic
00000003 ~ Manual
00000004 ~ Disabled

Now you can merge this file into the registry.

In theory it would be possible to just export
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
and then merge this file.
Practically it is unlikely that your other computer has exactly the same (AV and other 3rd party) services installed. So this may cause problems.

Thanks yoyo. I already have it cofigured the way I want it and i dont feel like going through the process again.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
