File search woes

Does anyone out there experience mouse jitter when executing a file search ... I have on occasion considered abandoning the search as the system feels like it is grinding to a halt ?

My PC spec is :
1.3Ghz Amd Atholon
640Mb Ram
TNT2
MS Intelimouse

thats a new one on me have u got all the updates from MS i to am running a MS Intelimouse and a logitech trackman and the MS mouse so go goofy on me every know and then !!

searching

the only problems i have with search are not finding files that exist, and MS Office installer starting everytime i load find. No mouse problems though..

The only time I get the mouse-jitters when file searching is when it's dredging thru' the hidden / system folders, then everything seems to come to a standstill !! I've found no cure as of yet.
