Father's System

So I am getting my father to get a new computer finally. He is one of those people who does not like to spend money, try's to save as much as possible. He has asked me to research his new video card and motherboard. Let's start with the videocard.

The way he described it is that he is most concerned with the best possible quality image for the lowest price. I told him there are many details with cards, once you get your price range and model, they are basically the same, but its performance in different programs and games that change. I told him videocards can be from 40 to 1000+ bucks. I know for a fact if he can pay lower then $100 he will be happy.

Now I remember there being quite a bit of sites that do reviews on cards, I remember at least one site that you could choose the make, ram, etc and it would list all reviews and compare cards. What are the best sites for reviewing videocards and there prices.

I am thinking for him it does not need to be amazing, he watches some downloaded shows, and browses the internet, so not much, but I told him he should probably get a card with at least 1GB of ram for future use. And if possible I don't want him to get a better card then mine (i have not updated yet and I have a 8800GT still). lol

So that was alot detail bugged together lol Any help would be great.

why not an ATi all-in-wonder? if he's not concerned with gaming, an older model or even used all-in-wonder will be fine and provide good quality picture output..

Well I have been looking at these 2 cards, to differnet price ranges

Newegg.ca - SAPPHIRE 100265HDMI Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg.ca - DIAMOND 4850PE31G Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

What are the main differences between these 2, I see one shows core clock and one does not. A few changes, I like that the one has HDMI. Would a all in wonder do just as good. Which one would be a good choice, what price?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
