Is it easy to tell the difference between an intake fan and an exhaust fan?

If you look at the side of the fan it will show you which direction the air flow goes... :D

The difference it the way you mount them. Flip the fan and it changes direction. :)

Just one other Fan question, If a case only has one fan fitted, is it an intake fan, or an exhaust fan?

its real easy ....intakes will be sucking ....and exhausts will be blowing :) couldnt resist

If the fan is blowing air out of the case, it is an outake or an exaust fan, if the fan is blowing air in, it indeed is an intake fan :)

You can see what they are by feeling where the air is going.

usually if its on the front you want it sucking(intake) and on back pushing (exhaust) this is the direction you would want airflow through case normally

cant we have it the other way around to save us having to buy a desk fan for in the summer?? :p

This is right but it is marked with an arrow on the side which isn't always easy to see. Or you can just plug it in (unmounted) and put your hand over it to feel the air flow.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
