Explor.exe trogan/virus

😡 ok, lately I ahve been having a problem with the Explor.exe virus/trogan. I have my anti-virus up-to-date (McAfee) but I have gotten this 4X now, fully cleaned my machine of it and a day or two later I have it again. Is there anyway I can setup my system to prevent the auto-installers from installing this crap?

It depends on the method of infection it uses. What is the virus name?

Probably a hidden script or proggy somewhere that is hidden from antivirus thats reinstalling it. Try running HijackThis and check the logfile for any suspicious entries or post it in here and see if anyone else can identify a possible source of the problem.

That person also detected 'explore.exe', its a modified ServU server.

Going through his files now and his system has been taken over and used as a Warez FTP dump and XDCC Bot.

Sorry for the long delay. Hijack this comes up clean and I haven't gotten the "Explor.exe" virus since. So I guess where ever I was getting from cleaned there system. Just kind of anoying as I can't even find a virus named that. But I guess I will jsut wait and see if it happens again.
