Hi guys, could you help me out on this one?

I keep receiveing this error messages in the eventlog.

  • AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0x71), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.
  • source: disk - The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D.
  • source: atapi - A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0.
  • source: DCOM - The server {520CCA63-51A5-11D3-9144-00104BA11C5E} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

Now, I found out that the first one is 'by design'. I tried updating my bios, cousing me to loose a ISA slot (check hardware forum for more info). But the error on one of my disks? No way, scandisked, checked with norton, en defragged - nuttin. And as for the last in the list - I don't even know what that is... Any1 ideas?

Ok. Here is the main question...are you having problems.

If you aren't having problems then don't worry about them. there are alot of errors that windows will notify you about, but they aren't going to cause any problems to actually occur.

And if you notice it doesn't say there is a problem with your harddrive it says there is a problem with your HD controller, which means there is a problem with the driver for the IDE controller, which is probably going hand in hand with the parity error. What are your system specs and as I asked are you actually having any problems?

Actally my systems runs very smoothly, but Im kinda neurotic (as far as my pc goes ofcourse).

Config is in the signature...

2x Maxtor 40 gig on a KT7a RAID mobo.
(the drives aren't on raid, just on ide)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
