Event viewer

Hi,

I've just checked the event viewer and saw the following warning :

Type : Error
Source : Perflib
Category : None
Event : 1017

I searched the Event ID website and the MS website to look at the recommended article. (Q173040 )

Since I'm very new to XP (been a W95/98 veteran,though) , I have no idea what this error is about.


I'd be very glad if you could help me.

strange, sounds like your running a dhcp server, which is most likely unneeded. DHCP servers assign IP's to computers on the network, but you should just be able to give all computers static ips, and disable the dhcp server
