Okay. Trying to get ICS going between two computers. One computer has a 56k modem and a NIC. The NIC is connected viacrossover cable to another computer. When I try to share theinternet connection coming in from the modem on the NIC, Windows tellsme that there's already a computer on the network with the IP address192.168.0.1. I've checked the device manager on both comps andthere are no phantom NICs still listed in the manager that could betying up this IP address. I've searched the net and can't find asolution.

First off, welcome to the forums! :)

Just to make sure, did you share the correct connection? ICS should be turned on on the modem, not the NIC.

Ok... Do you still get the same error if the network cable is unplugged?

No. Which is strange since there isn't any computer on my network that has that IP.

Hmm... Well apparently the first computer thinks that the secondcomputer is broadcasting that ip. Which IP is it set to? Or is it setto automatic? What happens if you turn on ICS and the connect and startthe other computer?

[edit] Goddamn space eating forum poster thingy!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
