error please help me!

just when everything was ok and SP1 fixed a few weird problems I got this error (see attachment). Any ideas as to why this happened. All I did was install office XP on saturday...

What commands do I need to enter to use the recovery console and repair the registry?

Please help me out!

I don't see an error, just a screen with colors. Could you tell us the nature of the error and when it occurs please? Also, to enter the RC if you haven't installed it, boot to the XP CD and select the FIRST repair opton - that drops you at the RC. But you need to know what to type there or it won't do you any good.

um..... it just opened up paint and showed a white screen on my comp.... probably something wrong with my associations

Then it's not me. I get the same thing. Although on one go I got a task bar with a missing icon. I've been going mad trying to see what it is.

Do a "System Restore" to a point before you installed Office XP.


Go to: "Progams" > "Accessories" > "System Tools" > "System Restore"

Click on "Resotre My Computer To An Earlier Time", then click "Next" and go from there... Do everything it says.

Then try to reinstall Office XP... You might have gottin a corrupt install.

If it screws up again, restore again and DON'T install Office XP anymore.
