hey well ive been getting this error lately, i went to my event viewer and this is the description of the error.. heres what it says:

the performance counter name string value in the registery is incorrectly formatted. the bogus string is 1848, the bogus index value is the first DWORD in the data section while the last valid index values are the second and third DWORD in data section.

anybody know what that means, whats wrong, or anyone have a solution to fixing this error because it causes the blue screen to pop up n then i have to restart my computer..
thanks.

I would say your registry is messed up. You could reinstall xp "Not the full install" just the upgrade one. It will keep your settings the same just fix all the system files. Just put your xp disk in then install from there. Dont do the full install cause you will lose everything.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
