Error 633

Hi, I have been getting this error,(The port is already open, or your modem is not configured properly)when trying to dial-up, have tried everything to sort it,it seems to be quite a common problem, but, how to fix it??It seems that I must run 'tapiini.exe to rebuild telephon.ini, but my Win XP does not have this file(tapiini.exe)so,I have got a copy from another PC, does anyone know if it is OK to run this, and should it fix the problem???Any help, info would be really appreciated.Thanks.......

Error 633 Modem is already in use.

Error 633 - the modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly.

RAS Error 633: The port is in use or not configured for Remote Access Dial-Out.

I've solved this problem (or similar) by making sure there isn't double drivers installed or detected in the device manager.

i faced this problem too with the modem a couple weeks ago. it was a Error 711 and i tried several method but still cant do anything 'bout it. So in the end, i repair my xp and everything works perfectly fine now
