Before the forum closedown someone suggested me to install the Status Monitor (version 2 since my printer is an Epson Stylus Photo EX) using the Windows XP compatibility mode, which I successfully did. Now my problem is that the status monitor can't find the printer even though it's connected and turned on. If I remember correctly, the status monitor installs a special "Epson LPT port driver" under Windows 9x replacing the standard LPT driver but of course this driver is not available for WinXP. Could this be the cause ? Any advice? Thanks!

are there no drivers for XP from epson?
you should attempt to contact them

Yes, there're XP drivers but only for the new models 🙁 Anyways someone on this forum managed to install the old status monitor 2 application but I had no chance to ask more details cause the forum went down and now the message base has been deleted, so I lost my contacts.

Waddy i think is in the process or will be in the process of putting the old forum into HTML.... if you can wait a bit you might be able to get the info from there

Had the same problem myself, The final solution was to replace the printer. It wasn`t the answer I wanted to receive either!!😡

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
