I don't know how many people use eMule here but for those who do and are interested in its continuing development under the eMule name:

On the first January 2004 Firstway Medien GmbH represented by Frhr. von Gravenreuth & Bernhard Syndikus moved to attack. They started off with one of the biggest German eMule sites, eMule.de by threatening them with an injunction and demanding that they stop using their domain name. As virtually all web pages using the name eMule are now in danger of the same fate, the eMule-project.net team decided to work together with the owners of eMule.de to defy Firstway Medien GmbH and to delete the eMule trademark. Now that they have shown their true intentions, an expensive legal confrontation is inevitable.
