When RSA first announced they were for sale, EMC was suspected to be the rumored buyer. Those rumors were confirmed today and it apperas EMC is continuing it's acquisition binge.
It will be interesting to see how big a player EMC becomes since they now own some of the top products in the storage (Clarion SAN's), Virtualization (VMWare), and security/Identity management (RSA) world.
edit: can some kind moderator fix my spelling of acquires in the thread subject?

EMC continues to collect smaller companies to pursue its strategy of becoming a fully fledged IT infrastructure giant. The corporation revealed June 29 that it is acquiring RSA Security for about $2.1 billion in cash, or $28 per share.
EMC, of Hopkinton, Mass., is the world's sixth-largest software company and owns the largest share -- about 29 percent -- of the overall data storage market. It has acquired three other firms—Interlink Group, of Redmond, Wash., nLayers, of San Jose, Calif., and ProActivity, of Newton, Mass., in the last two months.
