Effect of disabling System Restore?

Don’t rely on system restore actually working as on three separate occasions on two different computers it failed and I had to resort to a clean install therefore as far as I’m concerned it’s of no practical value at all.

I don't rely on it dave, I use it...if it works (almost always) then great...if it doesn't work, on to the next line of recovery

Like I said System Restore is a convenience. If it works great if not. It's into the backup CD's and regedit. (Reinstalls are for the weak minded and impatient.)

I got 19 months out of my last install and only reinstalled because a change from KT266A to NF2 chipsets was too problematic. Currently at 10 months on the new install.
