Last I heard myself, Nero hadn't yet released software that will work on Vista. Roxio has released version 9 of their Easy Media Creator software, which is claiming to be compatible with Windows Vista.

Minimum System Requirements:
• Microsoft® Windows Vista Home/Business/Ultimate, Windows XP Home/Pro/MCE (Service Pack 2), Windows XP Pro x64 Edition, Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 or later)

I know a bunch of you aren't fans of Roxio products, but since Vista is in the Beta phase anyways it may be something to toy with. I don't see any demo software from Roxio, so obviously this would have to be purchased.

Thanks a lot for info . I really appreciate these news .

Tried Easy Media Creator 9 on two different computers running rc1 and same results--- installs fine and Drag-To-Disc starts up, but all the program apps crash immediately on executing them.

I see that same result, and there are no updates for version 9 on their web site.

EDIT:
I just found this on another site. Check out the registry change on this thread:

It fixed my problem and correctly starts up now.

EDIT:
I think I spoke too soon. The crash is gone but the program still doesn't work.

Good find! This works for me so far--- I successfully burned an audio cd, copied a dvd, and burned a data dvd.

The video conferencing tool even seemed to work, which I found out entirely by accident... Vista had installed the webcam driver on my Vaio vgn-ax570g but I hadn't messed with it. I fired up Sightspeed out of curiosity (didn't know what it was) and poof, it worked. For some reason I was really surprised and impressed both by Vista and Sightspeed. :)

The problem looks to be with MSIE7 blocking the registration of the software which needs to load before the software can be used...? by uninstalling MSIE7 the software works fine without any issues or crashing. Reinstall MSIE7 again and it will load without any issues or problems.

With regards to Vista I'm trying to find a beter way around this problem with a few Registy hacks. Athough the suggested hack does work to some extent it still crashes in Vista, I just need to determine what is causing the crashing.

I have raised this issue with the MSIE7 Beta Team and Vista Beta Team it does look to be caused by MSIE7 because it works fine without this installed.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
