DVD to DivX

Ok obviously the days have not yet arrived when you can put a DVD into your PC and press the burn button to (within a few minutes) create a DivX copy of that DVD on your PC.

So in a world without that ability how can I copy my DVD's without it:
a) Taking 5 hours on my athlon XP
b) Requiring a raft of software packages each to do one tedious job
c) Looking like all the colours merge on the screen to make nice little square patterns
d) Taking up 1gb a movie

go to www.vcdhelp.com and find DVD-Rip or something like that on the left and then scroll down till u see DVD To DivX guides.

or 'Vidomi'

Vidomi makes and plays TV quality XviD and DivX™ MPEG4 video from your existing source files. The interface is simple to use, making it a breeze to get your videos converted quickly and efficiently.

Evaluation purposes only...

You can always try DVD2ONE. Its a brand new dvd conversion utility. You still need to use smartripper/dvddecryptor to grab your vobfiles off the dvd. But then you use DVD2ONE to encode(if larger then 4.7) movie only, in about 30 mins you will have perfect fit to DVD5 4.7 media. The quality is just as good using any other method. They do recommend that you don't use NERO to burn. However if you are having success with NERO I don't see why not. I personally use GEAR PRO 6.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
