dvd Q

i got a dvd for x-mas i have a dvd drive ,but when i put the disc in .it says please insert disc.
any suggestions?

i have the region set to the us .thats where i live & the dvd plays on in my other player.just not on my pc.

i just tried a different dvd that i have played previously on the pc,save thing (no disc) .i sure it is something simple that i am doing wrong .i don't play dvds very often.

then its the the dvd drive, it cant read dvd's anymore, it will still probably read cd's it happens somtimes, maybe time to upgrade and get a dvd writer like the nec-3500a its the best dvd writer and it only costs 65 dollars!
