Well, I've got a quite baffling problem w/ my DVD drive under Windows XP.

It seems that whenever I put a DVD into the drive, PowerDVD comes up and tries to run the DVD. It will say that it's playing for about 4 seconds, but nothing will show up (no audio, and no video). If I click My Computer, the DVD drive shows that it's reading the DVD because it displays the name.

Anybody have any ideas as to what the problem is?

What version of PowerDVD? Also, check your DVD manufacturers site and see it they have any firmware updates.

Also, are there any errors in the Event Log which might pertain to the DVD-ROM?

This could be helpful too.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. 🙁

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
