DVD movie creation

Anybody know of a piece of software to create DVD movies from MPEG's and AVI's and stuff other than Nero Vision Express? NVE works most of the time for me, but some of my mpeg's..... it well...... doesn't like.

any other programs that anyone may know of? Tried Pinnacle. don't really like the interface that much. Plus it took quite a while to convert it over and copy it to the DVD, and even then i was unable to play it in both my computer or home DVD player.
