anyone know of a program that can rip DVD audio into MP3 files, preferrably MP3Pro? if not into MP3Pro, don't really care, can still convert to that with MusicMatch.

Don't have any favourites. Just as long as it is recorded properly. That'll do me. :D

No real favourite really, i do like mp3PRO tho, nice small files :)

This isn't an easy question to answer....but..

Yes you can rip the audio from DVD disc's....most DVD rippers can do this...even 5.1

As to changing them to mp3 or mppro? Well that's a bit more complicated.

Most mp3's are created from 16 bit 44.1 kHz wav files.....

PCM can be converted to such but at a somewhat loss in quality.

Now if your talking DVD-Audio.....then ripping, from what I read, isn't really an option. Maybe trying to record the pcm stream on your optical out, into the soundcard might work...dunno....

I've a DVD-Audio player...but no discs to try it out yet.....

give Windows Media Encoder 9 a go :)

it has Windows Media Audio 9 Professional which supports 16-bit multichannel audio. Also supports converting VOB files in DVDs to Windows Media Audio/Video file formats :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
