Dummy

Can anyone help in locating (if their is such a book ) dummies for linux
As I want to try Linux OS`s but I cannot understand them, and so far I have trashed my windows system twice using a dual boot configuration of XP & Mandrake 9.2.
So I need some help to get it up and running, their must be a book for beginners in Linux somewhere. 😕
