so, i understand that as a 9800AIW user, i have a limited number of options for dual monitor use. Right now i have the 9800AIW (AGP) running tandem with a Radeon 7000 (PCI). It works for the most part, but i notice a lot of slow loads and fast memory usage (i am currently on 512MB DDR400).
Well, I know the AIW has an S-Video out, or an RCA Video Out on the card, and I wanted to know if there is a way i can use that to go to my monitor, without having to purchase a convertor. I guess the cheap side in my thinks that this would work:
S-Video Cable -> S-Video to VGA -> VGA Male to Female convertor -> Monitor
Will that work? I'll link the different components i'm talking about:
This is an Video Card to S-Video/RCA adapter, which i assume means it goes only one way: http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/searchdetail.asp?T1=131+0615&dept=lch37&search=&child=
This is a gender changer for VGA (i think): http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/searchdetail.asp?T1=130+0197&dept=lch37&search=&child=
Is this possible? or do i need to spring for a signal convertor?
