Dual monitor video card

Just bought a new 1.9Ghz Win XP (home) PC. It came with
an Nvidia GeForce 2 MX/MX400.
I wanted to use my second monitor using a previously
installed Banshee 3D blaster (16MB) from my old machine
and then span the desktop across the two.

Didn't work! Banshee worked perfectly but the dreaded
exclamation mark appeared in the device manager by the
Nvidia card. It told me it couldn't enable it.

PC World (UK) from where I bought it from told me the two
cards are not compatible.

If they're right... what would be the cheapest solution?
Should I buy a dual output VGA card? I would prefer to
use the Nvidia card, having already paid for it, and add
a cheaper second card.

Many thanks for your help.

When i decided to run dual monitors i bought a chaep nvidia card to run alongside my gefarce 2MX. Im not @ my computer right now but off the top of my head its a viper 350 i think, it cost me about 5 GBP.

The setup works no problem with the Gefarce card as the primary display driver.

So i woud reccomend buying a cheap 2nd vid card.

Why eat up more resources guys? Just get a one card solution. Go get a GF4 MX. Very cheap and provides dual monitor support with nvidia's new nview technology.

Any of the SP crew still out there?
