DSL reconnecting probs

hi,

i´m taking wild guesses on this one.. cauze up to now... noone was able to identify the prob.

after regular 24h diconnection my DSL Line reconnects, BUT the "old" connection remains as zombie, like:

DSL
ip 0.0.0.0
subnet 0.0.0.0
gateway 123.123.123.123

and then a new DSL connection is added with the exact same name

DSL
ip 12.23.12.12
subnet 255.255.255.255
gateway 12.23.12.250

problem is ... the PC tries to route all internet traffic thru the "old" connection.. which is o´c not much of a success ;-)

i tried a "route delete * IF 5" (5 is the "zombie") but it wont help

i tried native winxp wanminiport and pppoe 0.96 ... no change.

the workaround: reboot :) ... but thats not really an acceptable solution ...

.. any suggestions ?

have you tried running the command prompt and doing a ipconfig /release and then a ipconfig /renew

And if that failed did you check the arp table and see if the connection is listed there for the zombie and if if is delete it?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
