DSL problems

I have a dual boot system running Windows XP and Windows ME. My DSL has been acting up since I installed both O/S yesterday. My connection will not stay connected longer that 2-5 minutes. I have the same problem if I log onto ME. I am using the Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem. Is there something in settings that I can change or you think it is something else? This is getting annoying.

Windows XP becomes the default USB controller. You should check to make sure that you uncheck the option to allow the USB to be shutdown by Windows.
