Droppin Frames In Ma Gamez

I have been getting a 0.5-1.0 second freeze every 10-20 seconds during any 3d games (RTCW, Alien Vs Pred 2, Fifa 2002, Combat Flight Sim, NFS5, Etc)

I have tried changing resolution, quality etc. There is still no change to the glitch.

It seems somthin is accessing the HDD but im not sure

My PC Spec is

PIII 650 (100mhz)
196mb RAM (100mhz)
64mb Geforce2 MX400
UDMA66 HDD
AC97 Sound
44x cdrom
12x cdr
Win XP Corp (fresh install as of 20 Jan 2002)

Any Ideas??

Have you installed the nvidia refresh rate fix ?

its in the downloads section here

Tried the Nvidia Refresh fix, unfortunatly it did not fix the problem.

I think windows and my bois needs some optimization, is there any good FAQ's on this subject?

Have you tried turning VSync to OFF.

I fould I got better online gaming with that.

Check your modem seetings DISBALE compression too, that can often help too.
