Hi there,

For some reason i cannot go into 'my computer' or 'control panel' or indeed several other things on the start menu. When i click on say 'control panel' the screen freezes, and then the dr watson postmortem debugger error message comes up and i then have to reboot and start again.

This is very frustrating as obviously my computer and control panel is very important, i cannot even contact windows through the help centre because i need an identification code from control panel!!

I have tried things such as system restore to no avail. PLEASE PLEASE help.

Operating system?? When did the problem start? Were you deleting or tweaking any files?

I have a windows xp home edition, i havent been able to get into my computer or control panel for about a month. I havent deleted any files other than unwanted games etc.

Can you reccomend what i do next?

Thanks

Download avg antivirus and run a full system scan. download lavasoft ad-aware and spybot.

Yes do a spy shyte scan, then do a repair install of windows, introduce your system to sp2 if you have not already, if you have done, then autopatcher XP can be viewed and downloaded, a full version for April is recommended which can be downloaded then installed from various links and torrents from this thread

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
