Downloading problem !!!

Sometimes when i want to download something (Usually wallpapers and stuff), the download starts in the background without asking me where to save. When is done, a window pop up and and if it was a compressed file,it will show me what's inside but i can't locate the zip folder. What's going on?

ok, that's because you windows is set up to open those files when you click them. if u want the dialog box to save them, right click the image or zip file and click save as. that will help you. and IE downloads it in baground cuz it's storing it in temporary folder to open it. u could also get some kind of dl manager or something.

Perhaps, will u now if i can get the deffault settings back again(Click it once and choose where to save),because this problem just started. Looks like i did some wrong when downloading. I

unfortunately i dont know about the default setting much. just wait for some one else more familliar with this to come. maybe there' s some registy tweak for this.

Go to folderoptions (either control panel or Windows Explorer - tools) > filetypes > find the suffix of the files you want to download > highlight it > click advanced and check 'confirm open after download'.
