DOS based Programs

I was wondering if all DOS based programs freeze alot on Xp. is there a way to make them run smooth? I'm using Turbo C++, which works fine on all other os, but freezes alot on XP Home.

I use a dos program for work. I hate to tell you this but I had to finally give it up and move the work program to a second machine that runs Windows ME. I got tired of all the problems and having to retweak this and that. I finally just moved it to another machine and said to hell with it.

This is probably coming in late but wanted to let you know anyhow.

PS: I was using the dos program with XP Pro.
